The Kilimanjaro United Cooperative is a collective of farmers from the Chagga ethnic group who came together with the aim of making it easier to farm in the remote regions of the volcanic highlands of northern Tanzania.

Very difficult to access and with harsh living conditions, particularly during the rainy season, this mutual aid has enabled the development of a thriving and committed coffee industry in this region located at an altitude of more than 2,000 m...

Attached to their ancestral agricultural traditions, the members of the cooperative cultivate their plot where coffee plants, bananas and legumes are mixed in an entirely organic manner, excluding the use of chemical inputs.

The cooperative has also set up a financing fund since 2014 so that the children of producers can access education in rural schools at the bottom of the valleys.
